What is the big deal about the movie Paranormal Activity?
From the looks of the trailer, the hype is probably bigger than the movie itself. I hate these "reality" type movies. The movies make out to be unprofessional, raw, and unedited with first person point of view with the jerky cameras like Cloverfield. What a totally stupid unworthy movie. At least, Blair Witch Project was a good movie.

If someone has actually watched the movie (in its entirety), tell me what you really think. Is it worth watching, and were you really impressed? Please, rate the movie out of 5 stars.

Here are some of my favorite horror movies of all time:

The Exorcist
The Amityville Horror
Rosemary’s Baby
Mothman Prophecies
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Halloween (1978)
Hills Have Eyes (1977)
The Omen (1976)
The Descent

I have not seen the movie but alot of people are saying they really liked it so idk but i love the show on Discovery Channel called "A Haunting". It’s a great show! Your list is very good, out of your list The Exorcist, Amityville Horror(the one with Ryan Reynolds), Rosemary’s Baby, and The Omen are on my list as well. If you like scary you should watch "Ringu" from 1998, the original Japanese version of "The Ring". It’s five times scarier and way better.

It is worthless and fake. The only thing paranormal about it is the spooky thought of morons actually paying to see that garbage.

well 1st off i have NOT seen it YET. i cannot wait to tho. it will semm raw and unedited since it was made with a $15,000 budget. i dont think it will be too jerky cuz from the looks of it the cameras they put thru the house are on tripods. the whole point of that type of movie, with a handheld camera, is to make the audience feel like they are in the movie. u say u dont like that type so im doubting ur gonna even give it a chance and u have already made up ur mind that its going to suck..

and Blair Witch Project SUCKED…

I saw the movie a few weeks ago and it did live up to my expectations. It wasn’t as scary as i thought it was gonna be though. Its not a pop out scare you type movie like most horror movies today. Its very tense, my hands were sweating the entire film. It was about the sounds you hear and the things you see (and sometimes dont see) that made it soo scary. The movie makes you feel like you are right there, its kinds like your watching a snuff film. Pretty bad a$$. I would give it a 4.25 out of 5. Best horror movie i’ve seen in awhile. The camera pretty much is on a tripod for most of the movie so you dont have to worry about it being that jerky. Overall is was a great movie. I suggest watching it before you judge it. Easy to criticize something you haven’t seen yet. Go see the movie and judge it for yourself.

Runaway BrideRunaway Bride (1999)

IMDB rating: 5.20

Plot: Ike Graham, New York columnist, writes his text always at the last minute. This time, a drunken man in his favourite bar tells Ike about Maggie Carpenter, a woman who always flees from her grooms in the last possible moment. Ike, who does not have the best opinion about females anyway, writes an offensive column without researching the subject thoroughly. The next day, Ike gets fired by his publisher (and former wife), because he went too far and faked the facts, which real journalists don’t do. Ike’s only way back into the business now is to do a fact-based report on Maggie and her upcoming fourth wedding attempt, which Ike predicts to fail again. So, as he circles her like a vulture his prey-to-be, Maggie’s opinion of Ike sinks below zero. Not only is Ike waiting for her to fail again but the whole town is poking fun at Maggie about her mistakes. But that is a point which Ike doesn’t like.

I recently saw the movie, Runaway Bride…why are there no African Americans in this movie?
There are no people of color in this movie at all…it was made in 1999 not 1939, why did the makers of this movie create a Southern town with no Black people?? Is this a racist thing?

Who gives a rats ass?
Sick Boy | Aug 09, 2009

you turned it into a racial thing, you’re the one whose the racist.
ratbear | Aug 09, 2009

Um… I pretty sure it wasn’t meant to be racist. In any way…
Just Me | Aug 09, 2009

No. It’s only racist when people want to make it a racist issue. Just like white-out. It’s only racist when some black person says that it is because it only whites out black letters. Bowling is racist if a white guy says that the ball represents a black man knocking down white people (pins). And so on. Stop thinking things are racist.
ManOnFire | Aug 09, 2009

There are plenty of movies without blacks… Whether its coincidence or intentional, either way there’s nothing you can do about it… Just get over it…
Yats | Aug 09, 2009

why arent there any white people in norbit? is eddie murphy a racist?!!?

who cares. im sure neither are racists, its just the way the movie was made. big deal.
Duggy | Aug 09, 2009

no
Joe Madre | Aug 09, 2009

No probably not.
Mary S | Aug 09, 2009

its possible that it just happened that way.
You must be racist to notice that.
it would be racist to get coloured actors in a movie as only to have coloured people in the movie.
live_wire | Aug 09, 2009

No but i didnt even notice. I think it probably just happened that way. i was just paying attention to the plot of the movie…didnt notice.
AllTimeLow | Aug 09, 2009

Only racists notice those things.
